1. What should I do to prepare for my spray tan?
Prior to your spray tan you want to shower with a regular loofa or sponge and a gel-based body wash (do not use bar soap), and exfoliate really well! Shave any areas that you normally do. Do not apply any moisturizers, creams, perfume or any other product that could hinder your skin’s ability to absorb the organic tan and all the nutrients that our formula has to offer. Wear loose fitting, dark clothing when you come in for your spray tan. Avoid bras, tight under garments, socks, tight shoes and anything that might rub your skin. These will wear off the tan in those areas and leave a tan line. Wear flip flops if possible. Any waxing or manicures/pedicures should be done at least 24 hours prior to your spray tanning session.
2. What is DHA, is it new? Is it safe?
DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) is derived from plant sources such as sugar, beets and sugar cane. The DHA reacts with the proteins in your skin to create the beautiful bronze color that is achieved. All of the components in our organic tanning solution are approved by the FDA and have been used in food and cosmetics for many years. Our Organic Spray Tan Solution is Eco Certified Organic. This means that the ingredients grown and used to make our fabulous formula were not treated with pesticides or any harmful growth hormones.
3. How long before I can shower?
The organic tan needs anywhere from 4-8 hours for the DHA to bronze the top layer of your skin. This is why your tan gets slightly darker during this time than when it was first sprayed on. We generally advise that you wait at least 6 hours or longer before showering. This is a nutrient rich formula infused with natural moisturizers like aloe vera and hyaluronic acid. So you are not only becoming tan, but your skin is also getting a big drink of moisture.
4. Will a spray tan protect me from the sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays?
NO! It does not. You should always wear sunscreen whenever you are exposed to sunlight.
5. How long will the spray tan last?
Your organic custom tan will be at it’s darkest the second day and fade away daily as the skin is sloughed during the normal process of skin renewal. Utilizing a rich moisturizer, patting yourself dry with a towel after showering, drinking plenty of water, using sulfate-free body washes, taking less showers, and avoid swimming in chlorine swimming pools everyday will prolong your tan anywhere from 5-14 days.
6. Can I work out after being sprayed?
Same answer as with showering. You must give the organic tan 6 to 8 hours or longer (best if you sleep with the solution) to develop. Try to avoid any activities that might cause you to sweat as this might increase the chance of tan lines
.
7. Will it rub off on my clothes or bed sheets?
There is a chance that the natural bronzers will rub off on clothing and bed sheets. This will wash out very easily, however, we always recommend that our clients wear darker, loose fitting clothing.
8. Why did the solution wash off in the shower?
The organic bronzers are temporary bronzers that give you the immediate color. The real color is the result of the DHA reacting with the proteins of the skin. The real color develops behind the natural bronzers in 6-8 hours. It is the natural surface bronzers (or what we like to call our color guide) that the client sees washing off in the shower.

9. How can I get my organic tan to last longer?
Clients who take exceptional care of their skin will have longer lasting results.

Here are a couple of tips for achieving a lasting beautiful tan:

  • Avoid bar soaps. It is best if you use a sulfate-free body wash that will not dry out your skin. Drying out your skin will accelerate your skin’s replacement cycle, causing your tan to fade faster.

  • Your skin’s healthy pH balance is 5.5. Water has a pH of 7.0. That means that every time you shower you’re drying out your skin! Make sure you moisturize with a rich cream or lotion.

  • Keep your body hydrated by drinking lots of water daily. This will promote healthy skin. Healthy skin equals a healthy tan!

  • Your first shower should be a light one. You are simply rinsing the excess bronzers off of the surface or your skin. Use body wash only in necessary areas, and be sure to MOISTURIZE after!
